Decisions on the applications for funding to run the pilot programme are expected in early April 2009.  While programme managers 3R Group Ltd await these decisions before commencing the detailed work of developing the Gardenwise concept and pilot they have already commenced discussions with plastics suppliers to the Nursery Industry.

They have met with one large scale supplier in March to share the concept of an industry stewardship programme and to get a feel for their commitment to be involved in the recovery of plastic from the Nursery and Garden Sector.  A high level of engagement and interest has been expressed.  The detailed work on developing the Gardenwise programme for industry members will commence in earnest in April, albeit a wee bit behind schedule.
