The follow up from the NGIA Conference has proved very successful for the Gardenwise team.  The theme of Graeme Norton’s Gardenwise presentation at the conference was ‘Beyond Talking – Taking Action’.  That call to action certainly seems to have been taken up and meetings continue with suppliers to the nursery and garden industry.

Graeme says “Adele and I were heartened by the level of interest and commitment of a range of parties at the conference and over the months that have followed.  That augers well for getting Gardenwise properly to the start line and we are looking forward to working with those manufacturers, suppliers and growers who have asked how they can be involved”.

The first full Gardenwise Bags collected by Palmers in Napier were delivered to 3R premises in Hastings for evaluation.  The initial results are promising, with very little ‘non-garden’ plastics included in the bags.  Evaluations continue throughout October.
